This video for Northface – The Explorer – is an outstanding piece of cinematography and story telling. It puts you in the shoes of the explorer and gives you a taste of nature at the extremes – from the top of the mountain near a raging ice packed river, etc.  There’s some good action video, but it’s hardly a GoPro type film, it’s just a simple piece of great video production using all the elements – cinematography, music, old film clips, editing and voiceover to make a wonderful film that’s far more than the sum of its parts.  The uncertainty about what story the narrator is describing, mountains, the moon or the South Pole, leaves the viewer dialed in, trying to figure out the puzzle.   When you see that it’s Buzz Aldrin the puzzle is all over, but it’s a great ride.
