Capital Campaign Plan
Portsmouth Abbey School
Our executive producer, Paul Dewey, was integral in developing Portsmouth Abbey’s capital campaign plan. The capital campaign ended in 2008 and was successful, in no small part because of the use of this video in reaching out to potential donors.
The pacing of this video is deliberately a little slower than some of our other school fund raising videos. This was a purposeful decision and part of the larger capital campaign plan to enhance the pastoral tone of the piece established through the music, archival photographs, and wide shots of the school’s beautiful campus.
The focus of the video is on raising money for the school’s housing, facility renovations, and for their endowment and scholarship programs. By being direct and descriptive of each area they aim to improve, the video strongly communicates what the school needs and why they need it. Each of the targeted areas for improvement are part of the continued traditions of the school. From church renovations to updating the boarding school’s housing facilities, the purpose and necessity of the funds is made evident. Clarity is key with any video with any goals of marketing, and making the message clear in a clean and professionally constructed video is a fundamental reason why this campaign was a success.
