Conan O’Brien spent his final week in NYC trashing his set and working his way through many of his favorite routines. Former sidekick Andy Richter stopped by on Conan’s final night. Conan will assume the position atop the NBC ‘late night’ lineup in June when Jay Leno relinquishes his role as host of the Tonight Show to Conan. We’ll have to see what the network has in mind for the 10 pm hour which it has ceded to Leno’s production company for some kind of variety show in the works. Will it work? Who knows but it’s bound to cost less than the number four network’s disastrous line-up of ‘must avoid’ programming.
